About the Item

A mid 19th century mahogany framed and leather upholstered library tub armchair, circa 1850. This handsome chair with solid mahogany frame features a button-down hand-dyed leather hide covered continuous arm rail with scrolled terminals. Pierced and carved back splat. Conforming overstuffed seat, all finished with antique brass tacks. Supported by reeded and ring turned front legs, splayed rear legs, all sat on "Cope & Collinson Patent', gilt brass and ceramic castors. This high quality and library chair, has been through our workshop. Re-upholstered, fully serviced, cleaned and waxed. Now ready to be used, appreciated and enjoyed. Dimensions: This armchair is measures approximately 75.5 cm (29.75") tall, the width is approximately 72.5 cm (28.5") wide, and depth 65 cm (25.75") deep. The seat height is approximately 43.5 cm (17.125") Condition: Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This chair is in a good condition commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. No loose joints. All original frame and castors. Odd minor marks and blemishes. Recently reupholstered to the highest standard, in traditional manner, and finished in hand-dyed leather hide. Serviced, cleaned and waxed. Very much ready to be used. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
