The fabric on this near pair of French gilt armchairs depicts courting scenes. There is significant wear and staining to the fabric and wear to the gilding in some areas. The oval backs have carved molded shapes and splayed arms have carved acanthus leaves. The aprons have carved molded edges and the legs have carved stop fluting.
