Beautiful original side chair. Elegant design with black Manchester upholstery. The upholstery has minor traces of wear and is in good condition, although there is a 'repair-patch' on the right side, next to the armrest (see picture #9). Some rusty spots on the base (see picture #8). Under the seat one can see some 'bumps', caused by the spirals.
On request reupholstery is possible in any kind of leather or fabric of your choice. Please ask for more information and the many possibilities by our in-house atelier.
Key designers for the tubular steel furniture, which became famous in the 1930s by companies as Thonet, Gispen, Auping, Fana Metaal, de Wit Schiedam, and more companies were Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer, Mart Stam, Rietveld, Gispen, Anton Lorenz, Paul Schuitema, Bas van Pelt, van der Vlught, etc.
