About the Item

Pair of painted Italian armchairs with original painted finish showing desirable natural wear. Each having a caned backrest surrounded by an oval, fielded frame surmounted by foliate carving, into the outswept arms uniquely carved with curvaceous scrolls, and raised on outscrolled, shaped terminals. The crown seat is upholstered in linen and trimmed with nailheads over a bowed seatrail. Raised on rosette-headed, square-section, tapering legs.
