About the Item
Striking pair of matching black lacquer ebonized English elbow armchairs crafted in the Regency taste. The chairs feature a beech frame with a caned seat and back having large gracefully curved arms. The lacquered frames have decorative parcel gilt accents and floral motifs. The generous seats are fitted with deep cushions having ruffled fringe on the borders and a chinoiserie motif fabric in a dramatic rose color. The seats measure 17.5 inches high without the thick cushions and 22 inches high with the pillow seats. The chairs are supported by elegant turned legs that are splayed on the ends. From a Timothy Corrigan installation in Beverly Hills, California. The chairs were sourced from England by Bloomingdale's with a plaque on bottoms. Sold as a pair. The chairs are sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship.

Age appropriate wear with minor chips, scuffs, fading, and light scratches commensurate age and use. Very good, well-preserved condition as seen in photos. Very minor losses to cane as shown.
