About the Item
A most elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood armchairs. Each chair is raised by fine cabriole legs with a decorative mottled band which extends along the arbalest shaped frieze and sides. Each cushioned arm rest displays a beautiful shape with the same mottled design, which extends along the border of the upholstered back support. The top displays a beautiful and richly carved scrolled foliate design. All original gilt throughout.
