Pair Of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Giltwood Armchairs
About the Item
An elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Giltwood armchairs. Each chair is supported by four round tapered and fluted Giltwood legs with richly carved rosette blocks atop each leg. The straight friezes on each side is decorated with carved spiral designs. Above the rosette carved blocks on the front are the acanthus leaf decorated arms with floral upholstered arm rest. The backrest has the same floral upholstery as the seat and arm rest. The top crown of each chair displays carved bows with flowing ribbons.
