About the Item

Unusual Late 1800s early 1900s French antique pair of armchairs in original white paint with carved backs and beautiful curved arms and legs. They hark back to Napoleon's favorite Empire style and are very delicate to look at. Canework seats complete the look perfectly on these Empire inspired armchairs, they are perfect for decorating a room, a hallway or bedroom. The original paint is nicely distressed and the armchairs are structurally sound. They are delicate and need to be looked after. We would advise using a seat pad to help protect the original canework seat if for regular use as they are not designed to take a heavy weight.
