About the Item

A pair of French turn of the century upholstered bergères armchairs from the early 20th century with old green velvet upholstery, out-scrolling arms and turned legs. Created in France at the turn of the century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th, each of this pair of bergères features a curving back connected to two out-scrolling arms. The chairs are fully covered by an old green velvet fabric showing signs of use particularly visible on the arms. They are each raised on four short legs, the front ones being turned, of cylindrical shape and mounted on casters, the hind ones slightly saber sans casters. With their comfortable design, colorful presence and nice patina, this pair of French turn of the century upholstered bergère chairs with turned legs circa 1900, will bring a touch of simple elegance to any home, particularly displayed in a living room or bedroom.
