About the Item
A most elegant pair of Italian 18th century Louis XV/XVI giltwood throne armchairs. Each armchair is raised by circular fluted tapered legs with top acanthus leaves. The scalloped apron has an etched scrolled design amidst carved scrolled foliate. The 'S' scrolled arms are decorated with the same etched design as the apron. The impressive scalloped back has richly carved foliage and a top central shell. All original gilt.
