A wonderful pair of Italian 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood armchairs. Each chair is raised by elegant cabriole legs with large richly carved acanthus leaves and beautiful floral reserves at each corners. The aprons display most decorative scalloped shapes with striking foliate designs and central smooth floral cabochons. Each arm displays a cushioned support and additional lovely carved acanthus leaves. The upholstered back supports also display lovely scalloped shapes with fine mottled borders and acanthus leaves centering smooth cabochons.
