About the Item

Pair of painted Italian armchairs. Each padded backrest is surrounded by a fielded frame surmounted by floral carving and decorated by beading along its side channel of the back. The outswept arms are uniquely carved with curvaceous scrolls, and raised on acanthus-carved, shaped terminals, flanking its loose, drop-in cushion over the seat. Its bowed seatrail is carved with beading and centered by a rosette. Raised on foliate-carved, square-section, tapering legs. This exceptionally well-carved pair of chairs have been reupholstered in pinpoint fabric with nailheads. Stock ID: D1692
