Savana Armchair in Natural Wicker, Brazilian Contemporary Style

About the Item

This armchair is made of wicker in the Brazilian contemporary style. A clump of grass, a bush, which moves in the wind and envelops its inhabitant was the inspiration for creating the Savana armchair, made in Wicker, traditional and natural material of the Brazilian furniture, widely used in the 70's and 80's, but whose origin goes back to the time of ancient Egypt. Massive and totally handmade, without any use of metal structure or wood, the Wicker branches are curved in the water and then glued one by one, forming the "tree trunk" that serves as the base; And the backrest, which projects upwards in the shape of a shell, giving protection and shelter to the user. The sensation is of sitting inside a clump, completely enveloped, in an atmosphere of introspection; Almost of reflection. The cushion, made of long synthetic fur in Golden, refers to the great animals of the African Savannah, who seek in the hot days a shade to protect themselves from the scorching sun. Savana demonstrates the intention and versatility of the designer Tiago Curioni in creating pieces with whatever is available and available for use. The ability to change materials, discovering their characteristics, method of work and limitations, leads their work always beyond expectations, culminating in a playful and surprising result.
