About the Item

An authentic and unique prototype piece from the French nineties design : The iconic "Spidlight" tripod armchair by Douglas Mont. High-tech streamlined shapes and experimental materials were inspiring designers of the digital age, such as Ron Arad, Marc Newson, Zaha Hadid, and here the French Douglas Mont. Usually produced in resin, this sample is recovered with an incredible Bordeaux red foal skin, hand made by the designer, never seen and never put in production. The animal skin choice is giving this technological piece an interesting paradoxal input, combining future and tradition, industry and nature, comfort and architecture. We must mention the subtle geometric esthetic of the foal skin cuts on the cover work, giving this piece an additional layer of visual interest. This is a unique piece, from the best provenance : the artist himself!.
