About the Item
”Cow horn" chair designed by Knud Faerch. Produced in Denmark by Slagelse Møbelfabrik during the 1950s. Highly figured solid oak base. Solid teak backrest with beautifully carved lines and superb wood. Seat with cognac leather with perfect patina. Very good vintage condition with light age related wear and patina. Fully restored.
Danish modern and its organic style was established by notable architects and designers of its time. Taking its start during the 1940s when designers of the organic style in Denmark such as Finn Juhl, Flemming Lassen, Viggo Boesen and Mogens Lassen to name a few starting designing curvaceous furniture for the modern home. The style was synonymous with Denmark going forward and received much acclaim from critics around the world.
The most notable characteristic beside their aesthetic was the Danes world class craftsmanship and quality materials and craft. Some of the highest quality pieces in furniture and interior was designed in Denmark during this time and is as popular today as it was then
