Set of Two Lovely Lower Armchairs in Blue and Yellow, 1950s-1960s

About the Item

This is a set of two chairs that do not come by very often. To us the origin is unknown but the look and feel, with the sloping backrests, are similar to the 'F1' chair designs of Belgian designer Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax or to some designs of Pierre Guariche for Meurop. Both Belgian manufacturers. The size of the two chairs, combined with the bright colors make this a lovely set of two. These chairs have been made with attention to details. For example, no fasteners are visible with the mounting of the backrests. This is done from the backrest into the frame, giving the chairs a more smooth appearance. The condition is good, with signs of age and use. There is a small layer of foam in the seats and backrests that have dried out. This does not truly effect the looks of the chair and will only give slight loss of comfort as it was only a small layer. Both chairs have no cuts to the fabric or large damages.
