Pair of armchairs by Thonet circa 1930s midcentury Bauhaus period. These cantilever armchairs are typical for the German and Eastern Europe Bauhaus era. These armchairs has a tubular steel frame and is Re-upholstered with a grey fabric. The original armrests are made from beech and have a great warm patina. The screws and the diameter of the steel are showing the originality of the armchairs.
These chairs is a great example of the leading design idea of the Bauhaus time. "Form follows function" was the leading idea of that time. These armchairs would make an eye-catching addition to any interior such as living room, family room, screening room or even in the office. It also perfectly fits in a hospitality or corporate location like a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club or in a luxury boutique.
