Vintage Mid-Century German Modern Earthy Green Suede Circle Balloon Chair

About the Item

The original Balloon Chair was manufactured by the German manufacturer Lusch & Co during the 1960s. The design is attributed to Lusch Erzeugnis. The frame is made of metal, the upholstery is made of natural leather (suede) in an earthy green color. The diagonal seat makes the chair deep and comfortable to sit in. It has a light form, the upholstery is laced, the color is subdued, and the thin legs do not burden the geometric shape. This design is one of the most recognizable armchairs from the Mid-Century Modern era. The armchair is in original vintage condition. It has small scratches on the metal parts, minor discoloration, abrasions and a slight tear in the leather on the sides. The seat is at a height of 38 cm.
