About the Item

The mid-20th century saw brilliant European designers working to create furniture that explored truly modern shapes and innovative techniques, while still maintaining the highest level of quality. Designers experimented with new materials and construction methods, resulting in a harmonious blend of minimalism, organic shapes, and understated elegance. This sculptural wingback armchair is a prime example of European designers' emphasis on beauty and simplicity. Cabinetmaker armchairs may seem similar at first sight - however, each model’s individuality becomes evident upon closer inspection. With a clear preoccupation with geometry, this chair’s outstanding architectural frame speaks of the mastery of the designer and of the producer. The rich green fabric complements the look by adding a pop of colour and highlighting the structure of the armchair.
