About the Item

This elegant vintage fruit wood bench was crafted in Italy, circa 1970. The antique seating stands on fluted legs ending with paw feet over a bottom carved stretcher at the base embellished with carved floral rosette medallions. The stool features turned armrests decorated with foliate and acanthus leaf motifs and the padded seat is upholstered with a colorful striped silk fabric; it is further dressed with decorative nail heads in the corners. The petite bench is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina; versatile, it would make a charming vanity chair in a master bathroom, used as a piano bench, or simply as extra seating in a den or living room. 29.5"W x 16.75"D x 26"H.
