Each bench with exposed Walnut frame atop four tapering legs of splayed form, and centered by a rush-woven seat.
Reference: "The Antiques Directory: Furniture" by J. Miller & M. Miller, pg. 476, example D1 for a Fauteuil with similar shaped legs, though dating from the Restauration period. (We assume "country" pieces to follow chronologically Paris furniture by a few years.)
