A Pair of 1960s Mid Century Oak Benches with Traditional Rush Seats
About the Item
A charming pair of mid-century oak benches featuring hand-woven rush seats. The simple, sturdy construction and warm oak finish evoke a rustic yet modern aesthetic. The rush seats are hand-woven in a traditional pattern and offer a comfortable seating surface. Perfect for adding character and seating to any entryway, hallway, or as an occasional piece for a bedroom space.
In excellent condition, with some minor wear consistent with age and use, the wood exhibits a lovely worn patina which we have purposely kept without additional restoration. Both benches are in good sturdy order and have gone through our workshop inspection to ensure there are no wobbles or loose joints.
Their lightweight design makes them easy to move and rearrange. Each bench measures 95cm long, 34cm wide, and 46.5cm high making them ideal for smaller spaces. Being a pair makes them very desirable for use in flanking a doorway or creating symmetry.

View All19th C Jacobean Renaissance Carved Oak High Back Cane 3 Seater Hall Bench Settee
Located in Llanbrynmair, GB
A decorative and well presented 19th Century Jacobean renaissance carved oak three seater high back bench settee. A superb quality piece with ornate arched back and cane inset panels. A lovely contrast with dark, almost ebonised wood frame, and light coloured cane seating.
Gently curved arms, which are very inviting, are typical of this style. The bench sits on eight legs, all connected by their original turned stretchers with additional decorative arched mounded stretchers to the front. A good sized, well proportioned piece with generous seat. The three seat design provides a lovely balanced and symmetrical feel to the piece.
Seat height = 46cm / 18"
The piece is in excellent condition, there are a couple of historic repairs to the arched tops (see photos) but these are well made repairs and are in-keeping with the piece. The bench is sturdy with the cane seating also in excellent order. The item is clean and ready for installation.
Provenance: This piece sat for many years at the famous London...
