19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Canape

About the Item

19th century French Louis XV Walnut Canape represents the epitome of the style! Rendered from select, sumptuous French walnut, it features naturalistic, contoured lines from the triple arched seatback crown to the finely tapered and carved cabriole legs. The armrests scrolled down then join with the seat framework with effortless elegance. The entire visible framework from the front has been lavished with stylized shell, floral and foliate motifs in a delightful expression of the Rococo style, made even more exquisite by the sheer natural beauty of the highly sought-after indigenous wood. Upholstered in a damascene velvet which is in very good condition, it will immediately become a fixture of flair in any room! If you act fast, the original pair of armchairs ~ bergeres and pair of side chairs are still available as of this writing! Circa 1890s Measures 33H x 48W x 22D; seat 15.5H.
