6 Curved Plywood Dining Chairs by Molteni in the style of Scarpa, Italy, 1970s
About the Item
A set of six chairs produced in Italy by the historic Molteni company, dating back to the 70s and 80s
Made of curved plywood veneered in ash wood which adapts, by flexing on the back and seat, to the person's posture, enveloping them.
Archetype of the chair, manifesto of an essential design, in which the decoration is left purely to the grain of the light wood.
The design of these chairs will strongly remind you of some of the projects by Afra and Tobia Scarpa produced by the same brand, but we are not certain that the Scarpa couple collaborated on the design of these seats.
These vintage chairs are in original condition of the time and have not undergone any restoration or modification, therefore they show minimal signs of use such as small scratches and stains and a splendid patina of time.

Midcentury Travertine Ashtray in the Style of Fratelli Mannelli, Italy, 1970s
By Fratelli Mannelli
Located in Roma, IT
Sculptural Ashtray attributable to the historic company Fratelli Mannelli, specialized in the processing of travertine.
Known for its collaboration with the designer Enzo Mari, who designed a series of stylized travertine animals, this Manifcaturer has also produced many other furnishing elements such as ashtrays, coffee tables and lamps.
The ashtray that we offer for design and material seems to be part of this vast production of this manufacturer.
The ashtray has a classic quadrangular shape but the distinctive element that distinguishes it and makes it more similar to a sculpture than a simple ashtray is in the handmade carved elements.
There is a small central basin that connects with those created to be able to place the cigarettes laterally, but above all the lines that intersect each other as in a sound sculpture by Pinuccio Sciola.
