This absolutely exquisite 'Koivutaru' armchair with matching ottoman from the 70's in the rare combination of afromosia and oxblood red leather was ahead of it's time. Designed by the visionary Finnish designer Esko Pajamies for Asko in 1977, this chair model would later inspire the ubiquitous POÄNG chair made famous by IKEA. Featuring an audacious cantilever design from bent afromosia wood this chair is a architecturally captivating as it is comfortable. With very few of these models ever made, fewer still available in North America and exceptionally few made is afromosia and Oxblood leather this chair is perfect for collectors and designers searching for an authentic Scandinavian masterpiece that is unlike any other chair before it.
