Beautiful walnut veneer embellishes this original Biedermeier chair. The back is decorated with an ebonized volute motif. The chair has been professionally refinished and shellack polished. It has new upholstery which is covered with a prestigious black fabric.

The so called original Biedermeier Ochsenkopf-Stuehle (ox-head chairs) get their name from their beautifully designed back. They date back to around 1820 and come from Southern Germany.
