Biedermeier Walnut Wood and Velvet Austrian Desk Chair, 1820
About the Item
Elegant single chair, of the early Austrian Biedermeier period.
All veneered in walnut wood, with inlays in lighter woods. As you can see from the photos, the back legs and the backrest are veneered in walnut wood, while the front legs are polished in black shellac. The seat cushion is covered with a very precious fabric of the "Seterie of Zoagli". Precisely it is a crumpled green velvet, with embroideries. Also the headband of the pillow is in combined crumpled velvet, but of different green color. The chair is very elegant and tasty, being single can have more locations in a home.
It certainly does not prove his years, given the state of the wooden part, and given its current design. It has however been finely restored and re-upholstered. This item has no defects, but it may show slight traces of use. For each piece, before the departure, a revision is redone, to make sure it arrives in excellent condition.
