About the Item
ELEG chair is made of a stainless steel tubular structure and five cylindrical cushions upholstered in marine leather fabric, which is easy to clean and has a long lasting life. The cylindrical cushioning can be removed in order to get maintained or stored. The chairs are also stackable.
Austere in appearance yet cordial to the human body, this chair design follows the metallic path of its tubular structure, while maintaining ergonomic comfort. Its soft cushion tubes, upholstered in marine leather, hug an array within the stiff steel frame where the body comes in contact. When seen in assemblage around central pieces, the chairs' eminent pluffy volumes recreate a collection of floating clouds, giving a light and air feel in the atmosphere.
The MORPHE series is the succession of the brand’s previous collections where serenity meets radical aesthetics. The concept is the amalgamation of functional pursuit and imaginative form with the design aiming to take shape in between opposing states. Captured at the moment of transition, the materiality follows the paradox where seemingly solid materials take fluid forms and vice versa. The design products of this series are imagined as shape shifting not only in their objective conception but also as mediums that also shift their hosting enclosures.

Studio Christine Kalia
ChristineKalia is a design studio exploring modes of spatial relations between architectural, interior and product design. The studio's vision is calibrated towards ecocentric design and contemporary aesthetics; where the end products manifest the prime materials. The various collections take different approaches to this design mode, often seen as sitting in-between reality and daydreaming. The “coming from” of each design’s unique materiality is carefully crafted towards a “belonging with”, where the sophisticated design of the studio’s products is complementing any environment, in order to elevate its aesthetic aura. Christine Petrou is the creative director and founder of ChristineKalia since 2016. Born in Larnaca in 1990, she is a trained architect with studies in Cyprus and the United Kingdom. Through her practice, Christine reshapes often found materials into contemporary design pieces of domestic use, bringing nature closer to the human environment. She designed for commissions in Cyprus and United Kingdom while her practice was featured on various publications.
