Condition Details: This iconic "Plia" folding chair is in 100% original condition and has aged to perfection! The chrome is in very good shape showing only minor signs of pitting as well as minor nicks and scuffs all of which can be seen in the photos provided. The transparent lucite shows only surface scratches, the worst of which is shown in the detail photos provided. The chair folds effortlessly to an ultra slim size for easy storage. This exceptional piece is ultra comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use. Please view all photos for details on this chair's current condition. Giancarlo Piretti
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
