Mid-Century Brutalist Pine and Straw Chairs by Fratelli Montina, Italy, 1960s

About the Item

These 4 chairs made the solid pine and straw wood are inspired by the popular sessions of the Italian rural tradition, as well as the "Carimate model, designed by Vico Magistretti and exhibited at the 1960 XII three -year, also produced by the" Fratelli Montina "company. Solid and massive structure; Hand woven straw to place yourself, a spartan but functional and welcoming solution thanks to the mechanism that makes the back unknown and inclines it, depending on the posture, of those who sit there. The wooden part of the chairs has been totally restored and the irony partially replaced in order to restore the tilting back. The straw is the original vintage one and features a small sign of Biro pen visible from photo.
