Pair of 19th Century carved walnut side chairs

About the Item

Pair of 19th century carved walnut side chairs circa 1870. Good quality pair of side chairs which would ideally suit a bedroom or dressing room. Cartouche shaped back rest surmounted with a hand carved shell and flowers around the channelled edge.  Further carving of the same below the seat.  Each standing on 4 cabriole legs with further carving and fluted detailing, with brass castors to the front legs. Upholstery in good order, with a complementary check fabric to the insert on the backs. Minor surface marks to woodwork, in line with age and use. Seat height: 17 /12" Seat depth: 17 1/2"
