Circa 18th Century Oak Carved Corner Chair-Dutch Colonial

About the Item

In the category of unique corner chairs, this circa 18th century carved oak corner chair featuring dark stain, floral chair rail, arms, and scalloped slanted splats is in the forefront as a one-of-a-kind piece. With ornately carved apron frame and square legs, reflecting the upper carvings, the style and somewhat primitive design of the carving, along with the chair design, could place this in the early Dutch Colonial era. Upholstered seat is a drop in, surface finish shows some wear indicative of a piece this age. There appears to have been a very old repair done to one leg, doesn’t impact structural integrity as all. Chair is a wonderful piece and would be a stunning addition to a room grouping with eclectic or eccentric flair or perhaps a more traditional room design. So many possibilities!
