Victorian Carved English Walnut Corner Chair
About the Item
Victorian carved English walnut corner chair, with scrolled acanthus arms; the edges are carved with wave like carvings ending in a carved torch. The center of the top has a carved mask with carved volutes that end in carved leaf and fruit. The back splats are carved with back to back stylized eagle heads. The eagle legs end in stylized carved claw and ball which end in a carved volute. The arms are fluted with acanthus leaves surrounding the support post. The apron has carved foliate scroll work. The legs in a beaded surround and are fluted and reeded. The seat is damask with a seven arm fleur-de-lis. Seat wear is commensurate with age.
