Antique Finely Carved Walnut Corner Chair
About the Item
With finely carved details. The curved crest rail with center leaf motif and scrolled acanthus leaves on the sides, ending in scrolled arm ends. The shaped splat with openwork leaf motif, shaped supports and turned arms. The shaped seat rail raised on four carved and ribbed cabriole legs with paw feet. With an elaborate turned X stretcher with urn form finial. The slip seat newly upholstered in a dark brown velveteen. In a nice overall antique patina.
H. 33" W. arms 32", Depth 28", seat H. 20"
Condition: There is a stable age crack across one arm, left back seat rail and leg with stable age cracks, some expected old gouges and scrapes that do not detract from the stately presentation.
