About the Item

Dormeuse with a particular design by the American architect Adrian Pearsall, a very daring designer in the shapes of his designs. The dormeuse have a very particular wooden structure as you can guess from the photos. A very original curve forms the legs and then composes the backrest. The seat of the dormeuse is very generous and so is the side backrest, as was classic in its designs. The dormeuse has been reupholstered with a white fabric, very beautiful and original as the architect usually used to do. Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011). he is an American designer. After a period in the navy he subsequently studied construction engineering at the University of Illinois, where he graduated in 1950. After only two years in the field of architecture, he began to focus on furniture design and in 1952 founded Crafts with his brother Richard. Associates, Inc. in Wilkes-Barre. At first the company produced wrought iron designs, but soon specializes in wooden furniture, which will become Pearsall's hallmark in its coffee tables and sofas. During the 1950s and 1960s, Craft Associates, Inc. became one of the most popular furniture companies in the United States. At the time, Pearsall's designs were considered far ahead due to his taste for exaggeratedly high-backed armchairs and gondola-shaped sofas; all characterized by sculptural components in wood. Wear consistent with age and use. Every item the warehouse HannauRoma offers is checked by our team of craftsmen. For each piece, before the departure, a revision is redone, to make sure it arrives in perfect condition.
