About the Item
The Carol Dining Chair.
The Carol chair is handmade using bent walnut with the seat of book-matched English walnut.
"I wanted to create a chair with a lightweight frame that has a generous width and depth of seat for comfort".
The photographs show the first edition of 12 chairs; each chair or set of chairs is handmade and receives a consecutive making number initialled on the underside.
There is also a narrower version at just 60cm in width.
The final images show the Carol Stool alongside the Carol Chair , which can be made in different timbers such as oak or ash and further images of the Carol Chair in oak.

In my practice, I question the confines of the domestic and practical demands of furniture and interpret the human longing for a deeper connection to traditional crafts, contemporary aesthetics and an engagement with natural materials, allied to a story made visceral through the maker’s time and hand. While primarily focusing on the design’s functionality, I incorporate through my choice of natural materials a timeless feel that will, through use, be complemented with a patina of age.

Made to order, the chairs were originally made by us for the movie "It's Complicated". We have now added side chairs to compliment the arm chairs. Now seats can be also be caned or solid. These are all individually handcrafted and so there is a 12 to 16 week lead time from date of order.
