About the Item
The Carol stool is a new design just completed at the start of 2022,
The stool has a bentwood walnut frame with the seat of English walnut.
"I wanted to create a stool with a lightweight frame, that has a generous width and depth of seat for comfort".
Each set of chairs is handmade and receives a consecutive making number and is initialled on the underside.
The Carol stool can be made in different timbers such as oak or ash.

Jonathan Field
Jonathan’s work has been shown at various exhibitions and shows in the UK and Abroad and by his gallery Connaught Brown of London. Jonathan is a member of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. He was delighted to be awarded a bespoke guild mark award for an edition of ten chairs in rippled ash completed in 2017. “Much of my inspiration comes from the patterns, shapes and textures found in nature, from the micro to full-scale aerial and landscape views, simple flowing lines and visual-tactile details of the wood are framed within each design. Using wood predominantly from the UK, that has a history and a beauty entirely unique to each piece, the distinctive aspects of the timber are often a starting point when considering a project for a client, the selection of the materials, the detail and love of the making process are all carried through within each piece.
