Continental 19th century Louis XV st. Giltwood dining chairs

About the Item

A magnificent and high quality complete set of twelve Continental 19th century Louis XV st. Giltwood dining chairs. Each superb chair is upholstered in cream silk Moire fabric and display straight back legs and cabriole legs at the front, all joined by an elegant Giltwood X shaped stretcher centered by a finial. The scalloped arbalest shaped frieze continues at each side with molded borders. The wide back is within a mottled Giltwood frame with an impressive pierced top crown. The top crown has a scrolled design accented with a central large seashell cabochon with swaging garlands at each side. Finely carved with a rich satin and burnished finish throughout.
