This set of six dining chairs, designed by Kwok Hoi Chan for Steiner France in 1970, epitomizes the daring and dynamic spirit of 1970s design. These chairs boast chrome-plated tubular steel frames with an open structure characterized by undulating lines, creating a striking visual impact which runs through the entire chair from fromt, side to back. The bulky, shapely seats are upholstered in original cognac leather, which has developed a stunning patina over time. - Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Chrome has age related surface wear, leather is still in tact but shows also wear to the surface as in craquelé. But all over a nice and original set with patina.

Kwok Hoi Chan
Kwok Hoi Chan was an emblematic figure of international design who emigrated from Hong Kong to England and France. In France, he paired up with the Parisian manufacturer Steiner. Even though Chan was deeply invested in European and international design, he has always stayed loyal to his Chinese origins. His furniture resembles an imaginary alphabet borrowed from Chinese calligraphy. His trademark is a suspended tubular frame which is combined with an organic shaped seating.
