Set 6 Decorables 1967 Selection for Chromcraft Metal Dining Chairs Red and Black
About the Item
Handsome set of six black metal dining or dinette chairs by Chromcraft from their Decorables 1967 Selection. They have a great midcentury Hollywood Regency style. Plus, they are in fabulous vintage condition. Their original black finish looks wonderful with few age chips or nicks and we have professionally cleaned their gorgeous bright red upholstery. We believe they are ready to use. Please see photos, circa 1960s.
Wow! This set of six delicate looking dinette chairs are perfect for a smaller dining room, a breakfast nook or maybe your garden room. Though delicate in looks they are not in sturdiness. Produced for the Decorables 1967 Selection for Chromcraft they are comprised of slender black metal square tube frames with their seats covered in a bright red upholstery fabric. Interestingly their square tube frame is very narrow at the shoulder broadening outward where the seat is attached and then flows seamlessly into round slender tapered legs. The front legs have the same square to round tapered shape. You will love their handsome details from the tips of their feet, which are adorned with a brass-tone sabot, to the middle of their backs, where they have a scroll and swirl Hollywood Regency style insert. They are stunning and will make a bold statement wherever you decide to use them. Make them yours.

Fabulous set of five Mid-Century Modern Planner Group style #1534 dining chairs by Paul McCobb for Winchendon. Comprised of a dark walnut finished maple. They have been newly upholstered at some point in their recent past in a brown background fabric with chenille squiggly undulating lines in gold and turquoise or teal. Beautiful condition with age-appropriate wear as you would expect with vintage pieces. Two of the chair backs do have small nicks. One has been repaired. All chairs have been re-glued. We have used restore-a-finish on the original finish to bring back its original shine. Please see photos. Circa 1949-1964.
Simply Amazing!! What a fabulous set of five Mid-Century Modern dining chairs! They are part of the Planner Group for Winchendon designed by internationally known and revered designer Paul McCobb. They are style number 1534, and they are comprised of a beautiful maple frame with a dark walnut finish. Excellent set of eight black Torsion dining chairs designed by Giancarlo Piretti for KI. There are seven arm chairs and one side chair. They are in wonderful vintage condition with minor wear that you would expect with age. Please see photos, circa 1995.
In 1997 Giancarlo Piretti received an award for his Torsion seating collection. These chairs are part of that collection. Designed and made initially and primarily for commercial purpose they are extremely comfortable and flexible. They are lightweight and stackable. This set has an attractive textured high impact black plastic seat, back, and arms on chrome legs. No one expects this chair have the comfort it provides. The back flexes. This flex is achieved with the torsion mechanism which creates gradually increasing resistance. They were designed for comfort during long meetings or lectures. But, that makes them perfect for long dinners with lots of conversation. Or, family night with puzzles, cards, and games.
The designer, Giancarlo Piretti, was born in Bologna Italy in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums including MoMA New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with is son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
