About the Item

A rare set of four solid oak chairs, designed by Martin Nyrop for Copenhagen City Hall around 1905 and crafted by the esteemed Rud. Rasmussen cabinetmakers. These chairs feature pierced backrests with Nyrop’s signature architectural detailing, reflecting the Danish National Romantic style. The seats are upholstered in black-and-white striped fabric, creating a striking contrast against the warm oak frames. With their robust construction and timeless aesthetic, these chairs represent a fine example of early 20th-century Danish craftsmanship.
