Casa Dellepiane (1939) and Casa Galimberti (1939), both in Milan, like the R. Apartment in Rome (1942), testify to a cultured but pragmatic, not radical attitude, which introduces elements of a rationalist modernity - see in this regard, the plastic volume of the internal staircase of Casa Dellepiane - in the context of traditional domestic interiors, in their materials and in the shape of their spaces. The single-family houses such as Villa Pace (1940), the Villa in Lodi of the same year and the house he built for himself on the Bolognese hills (1941) confirm his non-purist approach, which combines a certain desire for abstraction and decorative simplification of modernist ancestry The first bars, shops and pavilions date back to the same period: in this case too, Bega confirms himself as an eclectic designer, capable of ranging from the monumentality of the Caffè Grande Italia in Piazza dell'Esedra in Rome (1938) to the metropolitan-futurist fascinations of the Motta Shop. of Milan (1934) and above all of the Perugina Pavilion at the Milan Fair (1934), an interesting and typical example of those years of dialogue between architecture and typography.

Set of Six Ulderico Carlo Forni Dining Chairs in Cherry Wood, Italy, 1940s
By Don Ulderico Alberto Carlo Forni
Located in The Hague, NL
This exceptional set of dining chairs was designed by Don Ulderico Carlo Alberto Forni for a private residence in Milan. The design was produced by hand by a master carpenter in the Como area in the late 1940s. The frame of the chair is in solid cherrywood, with a sculptural wing shaped back. The details of the intricately made elegant backrest and the graceful tapering legs demonstrate the particularly high level of craftsmanship of the maker. The elegant silhouette of the frames is completed by the curved line of the rear legs, The chairs have been carefully restored and reconditioned, respecting and partially retaining the original patina of the wood. The upholstery has been renewed in a traditional manner, using high quality horsehair to create a comfortable and even seat. The ecru colored fabric is the beautifully structured 'Windsor' fabric by Tibor Reich...
