French 19th Century Cut Velvet Upholstered Stool

About the Item

On this French, 19th footstool, the seat is upholstered in luxurious silk velvet, cut and brocaded into a floral basket motif of burgundy and rose like a fine damask. The thick pile of the material is in remarkable condition for the age, having stayed vibrant and soft to the touch. A brass nailhead trim defines the seat from the turned oak frame.
