Black Midcentury Lounge Chair Bratislava by Jindrich Volak for Drevopodnik Holes

About the Item

Beautiful, iconic lounge chair named Bratislava after a capital of Slovakia. This lounge chair was produced by Drevopodnik Holesov in 1960s and was designed by Jindrich Volak. The Holesov factory was known for its work with the dent woodlaminate which allows the construction to be strong, yet formed in interesting bent-wood constructions and shapes. This model was designed to be easy and simple with a beautiful bentwood base. The chair is original with some remaining label attached. The seat is in an original black leatherette with beautiful shape of squares on the seat and back. The base has been restored with new finish and varnish. The wood is restored to its original state. Beautiful lounge chair for any occassions with a clean and elegant design. Excellent condition of the chair. Two chairs available, price per chair.
