H-269 Halabala Armchair By Jindřich Halabala For Up Závody, Czechoslovakia, 1920

About the Item

Iconic armchair designed by Jindrich Halabala for UP Zavody, Czechoslovakia in 1920s. The chair is H-269 model. This model has a very dynamic and abundant appearance. Beautifully curved armrests in a dark brown color add a dynamic appeal to the design. This chair by Halabala are unequaled in sculptural appearance and terse form. The chair was completely restored. The wooden parts and construction were redone, the upholstery is new. The fabric is a blue velvet with a grey velvet used as a lining and on the buttons. Since the chair had some structural damages, it required a heel on one side of the construction to make the chair level. This is done so that its hardly visible but it ensures the static construction of the chair. Trully a beautiful iconic piece!
