Danish Modern, a recognisable term around the world, stands for the characteristic style of Danish design created during the 20th century. With its golden age around the middle of the century, Danish Modern can be described by its clarity of design, use of high-quality materials and focus on functionality. As this armchair shows, the craftsmanship skill of Danish master cabinetmakers is an immediately distinguishable characteristic of Scandinavian design. The open, sculptural armrests complement the rounded edges of the upholstered body, along with the simple wooden legs, with the front brass-capped legs standing straight and the back legs slightly bent and tilted to increase stability and comfort.
