About the Item

The difference between Danish mid-century and other furniture is that there was this partnership between the designer and the cabinetmaker that resulted in ground-breaking creations. These Great Danes believed furniture should be shorn of aesthetic detail and be an amalgam of form and function. This pair of armchairs represent this sentiment both aesthetically and from a technical point of view. Denmark was a special instance of tempered industrialization, preserving sound traditions and safeguarding values of craftsmanship, materiality and usability.
