LO Design Roberto Lucci and Paolo Orlandini Le Farfalle chair for Elam, Italy

About the Item

Le Farfalle, translates to butterfly in Italian, reflecting the striking winged form of the chair. Roberto Lucci and Paolo Orlandini began their partnership in 1968, creating a wide array of products for companies including Elam and Knoll, Le Farfalle being one of these. With its metal frame blooming out like wings to support two plump cushions, they skill fully created an unexpected harmony between natural form and sharp industrial metal. Recently reupholstered in an off-white linen canvas. Frame is in good condition with some light wear to the coated metal. One available but can be used modularly amongst other Le Farfalle armchairs, to form a larger sofa. Published in Domus magazine 1975.
