About the Item

A gorgeous barrel back midcentury Selig chair attributed to Milo Baughman that sits on a suspended chrome base. Freshly reupholstered in a bright tweed Holly Hunt fabric that reads blues. The original label was lost during reupholstery but this is a Selig chair. The chrome is still bright - although has retained some light scratches consistent with age and use. We reupholstered as the chair was originally designed (to stay consistent with the original design) but the back cushion could be removed and a decorative (coordinating) pillow could be used in its place. Milo Baughman (1923-2003) was a pioneer in modern design and is considered one of the leading modern furniture designers of the second half of the 20th century. His designs were forward-thinking, distinctive and unpretentious. They were modern but always timeless and of classic good taste. His highly influential work continues to be collected worldwide.
