About the Item

Incredible post Mid-Century Modern low slung reclining chrome tube cantilever framed lounge chair and ottoman, which converts to a directors style chair. Done in the style of Milo Baughman and made most surely, circa 1970. This is the most incredible chair and ottoman! In the style of the ever so popular post Mid-Century Modern designer Milo Baughman and so unique. The chrome tube frame is reverse cantilevered and very heavy and solid. The chair itself will recline with the weight of your body and will even go totally flat, although I don't know why you would want to do that. And the biggest surprise of all is the ottoman converts to a chair, just in case you need extra seating! This is so wonderful for todays small homes. Plus this post Mid-Century design wonder is a feast for the eyes. Low slung and just lovely. It is in wonderful vintage condition. There are some stains on the original hopsack fabric which we have not tried to remove and a little fading. Although there are no holes or worn spots on the fabric and the set can be used as is, I can see how wonderful it would be in a fabulous new fabric. The chrome is in awesome vintage condition. We have been unable to find any makers marks and extensive online searches have only turned up one other chair like it which was called a Morrison chair. It came to us directly from a Mid-Century architect's home where it had been since it was new. Measures: Chair: Height – 26 inches. Width – 25.5 inches. Depth – 29 inches. Seat height – 18 inches. Arm height - 23.5. Weight – 34.2 pounds. Ottoman: Seat height - 17 inches. Height as chair - 27 inches. Width – 25.5 inches. Depth – 24 inches. Weight – 28.8 pounds.

Awesome vintage cantilever tubular chrome and blue hopsack fabric upholstered lounge chairs in the manner of Thonet. There are set of seven chairs available. All are in wonderful vintage condition with normal wear for their age. The upholstery has been cleaned and can be used but you may wish to recover. They are priced accordingly.
